Saturday, November 28 is officially Small Business Saturday, a day that Congress recognized with a resolution supporting efforts to increase awareness of the value of locally owned small businesses.

Small Business Saturday was started in 2010 by American Express as a way to encourage shoppers to support small, local businesses during the busy holiday shopping season.  Since then it has been endorsed and promoted by the White House and the Small Business Administration, as well as neighborhoods and cities all across the United States.  And in 2014, it is estimated to have resulted in $14.3 Billion being spent at locally owned businesses on one day.

Shopping Small Makes a Big Impact

Corsica Technologies is proud to be a locally owned small business and to support the other small businesses that are the foundation for the communities in which we live, work and play.

And as a locally owned small business, we know firsthand what a difference it makes when you make the choice to support a small business over a larger regional or national option.  Small businesses are the engine that drive this country, and with your support we will continue to thrive and prosper, collectively creating more employment opportunities for our neighbors and giving even more back to local organizations that support those who are in need.

The exposure of a national one-day effort like Small Business Saturday to a business that has more limited opportunities to garner this type of attention is invaluable, but it’s the Shop Small mindset that truly has the biggest impact.

So we encourage you to support the spirit of Small Business Saturday, whether that be on Saturday, November 28 or any other day of the year.  Because the real value of this promotional campaign is the attention and awareness that it brings to locally owned small businesses, and the perpetual mindfulness that it creates for consumers who are in the market for anything from a holiday gift to a service (like computer services, for example!).

Because if you really want to have a big impact on your community this holiday season, shop small.

And of course as a locally owned provider of computer services, we hope that you will keep the spirit of Small Business Saturday in mind when you are looking for professional services support as well as holiday gifts.  Learn more about how we can save you both time and money through IT outsourcing services and the management of your computer network to our team of experts.
